The creation of the Law No. 32/2008 of 17 July, from the implementation of a European standard on the retention of data generated or processed in connection with the provision of communications services or of public communications networks.

The law aims to regulate the storage and transmission of traffic data and location of individuals and legal persons as well as the related data necessary to identify the subscriber or registered user, for purposes of investigation, detection and prosecution of serious crimes by competent authorities.

As part of the solution created to meet the requirements raised by this law, it required the mediation system (K2C responsibility), to provide data from GSM, AXE, GPRS, ISP and others to the system SEARCH (WeDo). This will be responsible, in turn, provide the information to the competent authorities.
